Excerpt from a brief conversation with b. during her quiet time:
"What's wrong?"
"I can't....do lots of things."
"No you can't, but right now it's quiet time, so enjoy your quiet time and when you're done, you can move on to doing something else."
It's a good reminder that I can almost never do everything I want to do. Sometimes it's a priority issue: there's something I must do instead. Other times, it's a proscription issue: what I want to do, I mustn't do. Others still, it's a realistic thing: I just can't fly. And others (and most often), it's simply an economic issue: I can either do A, or B, or C, but I don't have time or hands to do all three. It is incredibly frustrating sometimes to be a finite individual.
No wonder the pure in heart will see God.
